Hallo! My name is Lori and for the fall of 2019 I had the incredible pleasure of going on Rick Steves Best of Germany, Austria, and Switzerland tour with my Mom and my sister!
This is my third tour with Rick Steves tour company, my first was RS Best of Europe (BOE) in 21 days (2015), and RS Village Italy (2017). Rick Steves tours are special in that you get the real Europe experience along with a healthy education on the places and the history of the remarkable locations you visit. This experience, along with local guides, makes Rick Steves company my very favorite to travel with! All of my other trips with Rick Steves have taken place in the spring, but this was my first tour in the fall. It ran from September 24th to October 7th, right through my birthday!

I was joined in this journey by my Mom (Suzanne), and my little sister (Emily). We have been a team, traveling together on all of these Rick Steves adventures and we are in love with traveling and with Europe! We love Rick Steves for many reasons, but one very important detail is that Rick Steves is one of the few tour companies that allows groups of three travelers to book and stay together and not be forced to pay for a single supplement. Many of the hotels have room options to accommodate three people to a room with a roll away bed. This is perfect for us!

Travel has become a passion and a necessary break from the pressures of life for us. Photography is another passion of mine, which makes travel all the more fun! We chose this tour to explore some of these countries we had but a sample of during our RS BOE tour. My father's family lines can be traced back to Germany, so this was also a chance to explore the culture of our ancestral lines. I hope that you have a great time tagging along with me, my Mom and my sister on our trip through Germany, Austria, and Switzerland with fabulous tour guide Maisie, bus driver Dirk, and the rest of our friendly tour group.
